I’m so excited about this! I’ve been looking for months for an opportunity to teach a WEEKLY Yin and Restorative Yoga class…. and now I can!
Yin yoga is a mindful, slow form of the practice with long holds of up to 3-5 minutes. The intention of yin yoga is to open connective tissue and joints in a safe, relaxed way. Yin poses allow a certain amount of mild stress to be applied to our tissues which can create a sense of opening and spaciousness.
Restorative yoga uses ALL the props to ensure the body is completely supported in each pose. This allows us to completely surrender to the pull of gravity on the body and the position we are in without any stress on the body.
Both Yin and Restorative bring us into our relaxation mode, away from our stress response, increasing our connection to our bodies and ourselves. There are no standing poses, and most of the time is spent lying or sitting.
Classes will be 75 minutes at the stunning Yoga House just off Warwick Park. Each session will include some breathwork, meditation, yin poses and restorative poses.
Every Wednesday 7.30 – 8.45pm
